Who We Are
New Narratives, PLLC was formed by Molly Stuelke in 2025 to provide mental health services to veterans, first responders, parents, and anyone else within the state of Iowa having challenges coping with traumas and anxieties of life.
You might be asking yourself, “What is trauma and what does it look like?” The answer to that is both simple and complicated all at once. From a mental health perspective, trauma can be defined as a distressing experience that causes significant emotional pain and impacts a person’s ability to cope with daily life. What falls under the category of trauma and what it looks like can vary wildly from person to person and is something the team at New Narratives, PLLC finds important to educate about during the treatment process.
Meet the staff
Molly Stuelke, MA LMFT (she/her/hers)
Molly is the founder and owner of New Narratives, PLLC. She began the practice with the goal of serving the community’s mental health needs, especially those related to trauma.
Molly has a variety of life experiences that contribute to her ability to connect with people of many different backgrounds. She grew up on a farm in a small, Midwest town, is a mom, the sister of a sibling with Down syndrome, a military spouse, a former teacher, and a horse-crazy kid that never grew out of it. These lived experiences led to a variety of professional interests and qualifications. She obtained her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University in 2022. Since then, she has worked at community mental health clinics, crisis centers, inpatient hospitals, and private practices. Along the way, she found her passion for working with individuals, couples, and families using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, and Critical Incident Desensitization (CID). Additionally, she is pursuing Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) and completing coursework and trainings related to maternal mental health.
After spending time in North Carolina working with veterans, active duty service members, and first responders, Molly relocated to Iowa in 2025 with the goal of continuing to serve these populations and their families closer to home. Working with Molly includes the opportunity to tackle major concerns or challenges you may have had for a few weeks or your whole life. No matter what, she will guarantee you will receive quality care that is uniquely tailored to your needs and likely mixed with some sarcasm and appropriately timed humor. You will be warned in advance that some of the process will not be fun, but the emotional relief and ability to rewrite your narrative will be worth it!
